Home And Away took place four times a year at The Light House in Wolverhampton. It had two halves of 45 minutes each, and featured top-notch poetry and spoken word from two teams of three poets. One team was local, the other from out of town. We always thought of it as a poetic tribute to Wolves’ Premier League status! We also had three open mic slots available on the night on a first come, first served basis. Entry was free but we passed the hat to help pay the travel costs of the away team. Despite being a runaway success we never got the chance to sign an exclusive deal with Sky Sports*.
