When we set out to put on the second Midlands Fringe, we knew of course that we’d be providing a platform for writers, actors, storytellers, comedians, poets, singers, improv troupes etc. and their wonderful shows, but we hadn’t considered some of the other creativity that might arise over the course of the festival. We had a show which was a podcast for example, there was the mega-talented Graham Stubbs generously giving time to record some of the events in his capacity as a videographer, on occasion photographers appeared in the audience to take great images of shows in progress, we also had our amazing volunteer reviewers who worked hard to give each performer a well-deserved response to their work, but perhaps the most unexpected element was the appearance of sketchers who captured performers by way of on the spot drawings! We were delighted in particular by the immediacy and energy of the work created by Sophie Rose Phillips, which we’ve posted here for your enjoyment. Thanks so much Sophie!
