Last night we celebrated the May Day Bank Holiday weekend by taking Yes We Cant to its new home in the Lych Gate Tavern. And what a night it was! The room was packed, the poetry was top drawer. Our open-mic poets knocked it out of the park; our ‘Alf Ender David Calcutt treated us to some glorious poetry from his new collection; and the night was ably wrapped up by Coventry poet laureate Andrea Mbarushimana. Our thanks to all of the poets, to the Lych Gate for providing such an excellent venue, and to everyone who came along to join our audience. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Our first night in our new home couldn’t have gone better, and the fact we didn’t have to set up PA or worry about noise levels was an absolute boon. Today we’re still buzzing, and looking forward to returning on Sunday July 5th for what will be another fantastic night! Before then, June’s Yes We Cant will be a purely online affair, and we’ll be announcing details about that soon.
